The Naval Archaeological Museum Nino Lamboglia was built in the early eighties by architect Vico Mossa. The structure is dedicated to a famous Roman wreck recovered in the Archipelago waters, and its precious cargo. The ship was wrecked near the island of Spargi around 120 bC. releasing a hundred amphorae and canteen vases, made in Campania, into the sea. Inside this museum you can see the reconstruction of the ship’s hull’s cross-section, about 200 amphorae, as well as a bronze armor and a helmet with the remains of a human skull.
