The traditional event, dedicated to Gian Maria Volonté, conceived and organized by the Quasar Cultural Association reached its twentieth edition in 2023.
For more than twenty years the festival has involved different generations of Italian and international performers, proposing itself as a trait d’union on acting to be understood in its different expressive forms: memory, contemporaneity and future. A tribute to the work of the great performers of the past with an eye always turned to the new generations, also thanks to the free advanced training workshops aimed at young people from the main national acting schools.
“Over the years, the event directed and organized by Giovanna Gravina Volonté and Fabio Canu, has been enhanced by two important complementary activities: the Gian Maria Volonté Award for artistic excellence and Valigialab and brought to the public’s attention the testimonies of many significant protagonists of entertainment, culture and criticism.”
“The screenings of the proposed films are preceded and followed by meetings to present and explore the artistic career of the guests. Through the viewing of a montage of sequences taken from the works they interpreted or directed, the guests are encouraged to tell the stories their experiences from film critics Boris Sollazzo, Enrico Magrelli, Fabio Ferzetti and Professor Fabrizio Deriu; offering the public an unprecedented and deep look into the work of an actor.”
