Cava Francese (french)’s beach is located on the island of La Maddalena’s south-west coast. It is made of medium-grained golden sand and framed by peculiar rocks that were sculpted by the wind. The sea is green and light blue, while the sandy seabed is shallow for many meters.
Walking towards the Sanctuary of “Madonna dei Pescatori” (Virgin Mary of the fishermen), from which you can enjoy a truly unique view on the Island of Spargi, it’s easy to come across the remains of a pink granite quarry, which was active until the ’60s.
